Power, with backup built in.
Here’s how it works.
Base Power is more than just affordable power. Backup batteries protect Texans from blackouts and keep your family protected.

On renewal, your rate’s legally guaranteed to be below market average.
So if your charge level isn’t always full, that’s expected.
We monitor weather and forecast outages so we can protect your backup—keeping you powered for as long as possible.
A single battery lasts up to 24 hours at reduced power consumption—two batteries can last up to 48 hours.

We sweat the details, so you don't have to

We coordinate everything with your utility (Oncor or CenterPoint) to make sure you're all squared away. We'll even switch you over from your current electricity provider and cover up to $250 in any cancellation fees.

Your energy rate is locked in for 3 years, and the battery agreement lasts 12. If the new homeowner signs up for Base, everything transfers easily. If not, we’ll remove the system for a flat $500—no matter when you move.

We find a clean, code-compliant spot for your system close to your electric meter, and install a soft start if needed to support larger HVAC systems. Every install is tailored with care, based on what works best for your home and the National Electric Code.
Base is your energy provider and backup power provider in one.
We install a large battery (from 25 kWh to 50 kWh) at your home for a low upfront cost. You get power from us at competitive rates because our batteries help balance the grid—charging when demand is low discharging when the grid needs support. When the power goes out, your battery automatically kicks in to keep your home running. Our current system protects against 97% of outages.
To get with Base, you pay a $50 refundable deposit upfront. This deposit applies toward your one-time installation cost once your battery is installed.

Base offers a significantly less expensive backup battery solution compared to alternatives due to the unique shared business model: Base earns income from the power grid instead of homeowners.
This business model allows you to get energy backup without paying tens of thousands of dollars for a traditional generator. An expensive solar system and solar battery also requires a massive upfront investment which often can take longer than the lifespan of the system to pay back. With Base, you pay just a one-time installation cost that pays the team of electricians to install the battery on your home.
Base offers fair, fixed rates and reliable backup power. Since revenue comes from the grid, not customers, Base avoids hidden fees and surprise rate hikes. Your agreement also legally guarantees your rates stay below the market average.
No, you don’t need solar to use our batteries. You don’t need solar to use Base because the batteries are designed to store energy directly from the grid. This allows you to access reliable backup power and lower energy costs without relying on solar panels.
That said, if you already have solar, Base works seamlessly with it. Plus, you can always add solar later—our batteries are designed to easily integrate with solar systems. And Base offers competitive solar buyback prices.
Savings on your power bill.
Protection against outages.
Peace of mind for both.
