Frequently asked questions

Apply through the form on this page. Base's partnerships team reviews your business, service area, and experience. If it’s a fit, we will reach out to you, and also walk you through onboarding — training and tooling for installer partners, or a simple sign-up for referral partners.
New subcontractors complete a 3-stage trial: online certification, two training installs, and one supervised install, before scheduling independently. Bring your own consumables and tools during training.
Per the Base subcontract: Commercial General Liability ($2M per occurrence / $4M aggregate), Workers' Compensation per state requirements, and Auto Liability ($1M CSL). Base Power, Inc. (205 E Riverside Dr, Austin, TX 78704) must be named as an additional insured on the CGL. Provide a current Certificate of Insurance (COI) to your Base account manager before your first install.
Base Power supplies the primary system components: battery unit(s), inverter, communication gateway/monitoring device, and system labeling. You supply all adder and fitting materials — conduit, wire, breakers, ground rods, and other site-specific hardware needed for a code-compliant install. Don't assume Base provides consumables — your account manager will send an itemized bill of materials with standard quantities.
Base Power handles all IA submissions and approvals — don't submit IA paperwork yourself. Install scheduling depends on IA approval: Base will notify you if an install needs to be postponed, and your calendar invite is confirmed only once the IA is approved or waived.
Base Power submits all permits and pays applicable fees. Permit documents come with the job PO.
Base Power adds jobs to your scheduling portal, where you can assign which electricians serve each job site.
You'll have a dedicated day each week to pick up or drop off material. Consigned quantities are based on your scheduled installs for the following week, plus a small buffer for replacement hardware.
Provide your W9 and set up a Ramp Vendor profile using the link your account manager sends. Base handles invoicing and quality assurance through the Contractor Portal — once your subcontractor admin approves a job's documentation and procedure, you can invoice Base Power there. Base pays on a Net-30 cycle.
Take photos immediately and contact the Base Operations hotline before proceeding. Don't make scope changes without written authorization — Base will determine if a change order is needed and how to proceed with the homeowner. Escalate safety issues even if they don't directly affect the battery install.
Do not file for incentives or rebates on behalf of members — Base Power manages all incentive programs.
Members complete a photo submission, and our in-house engineering team confirms the home qualifies based on meter and panel health and spacing requirements. These photos are included with the job PO for subcontractors to review before installation.
